My Sheep

This is Flash, he is the resident ram at Black Rock Creek. He isn't for sale, just so you can see what the "dad" looks like.

Here he is shorn, look at the shine of that coat!

Here is the fleece, that is my hand, creeping in there, to get a feel of it.......it's nice!!

Cierra is Cotswold X Romney
She has really nice fleece, though
is kind of small, but some of us like
them smaller, they are easier to handle!
Cierra is 2 yrs. old Her Sire was Mahoney (registered Cotswold) and her Dam Olivia (not registered Romney)

This is Rose, she is a Cotswold X Bluefaced Leicester, and was born in April 02.
She has great wool, and is really friendly.
The pink on her neck is from her collar.
Her Sire was Dillon (not Registered BlueFaced Leicester) and her Dam Olivia (not registered Romney)

This is Violet ( born April 03 she was a twin, but the ram lamb was stuck and died) taking care of this yrs lamb, (Artemus) she is a full sister to Rose, and has very similar wool, she is shorter than Rose though. Her Sire was Dillon (not Registered BlueFaced Leicester) and her Dam Olivia (not registered Romney)

Here is Kid Curry, he is Cotswold X BorderLeicester mix wether, rather small, but has nice wool. He was born in April 08. His Sire is Flash (Registered Cotswold at Black Rock Creek) and his Dam is Spot a Border Leicester mix.

This is Anakin, he is Spot's 08 ram lamb, and a full brother to Kid Curry above.
He has very nice dark brown wool with just a tuft of white on his head.
He is growing quickly and is a nice size.

This is Acoona, she is a Cotswold, born April 08, she has all these cute little curls! Her Sire is Flash (Registered Cotswold at Black Rock Creek) and her Dam is a Registered white Cotswold #61 from Prairie Winds.

This is Armani, Acoona's twin brother, his mommy stepped on him and broke his leg, and he ended up a bottle lamb, he is just a little thing, but soooo cute and sweet and spoiled!! This one we are keeping, just put his pic up cause he is so cute!
This is Artemus, a Cotswold ram. He is going to be really nice! He normally stands tall and proud, but this morning all he wanted to do was nibble on the broom. His Sire is Flash (Registered Cotswold at Black Rock Creek) and his Dam is a Registered white Cotswold #62 from Prairie Winds. All the tails got docked yesterday, I know, late as always! He was born this April.

another pic of Artemus.
This is Alaska, he was so white when born with just that 'beauty mark" on his lip, His Sire is Flash (Registered Cotswold at Black Rock Creek) and his Dam is Violet, see above. Born this April.

This is Aubrey, she is Rose's lamb, and her Sire is Flash (Registered Cotswold at Black Rock Creek).

From the bridge

This was taken Saturday morning while standing on the bridge.

Mudslide

This slide is on the family property, the tree uprooted there is huge, about 100 ft tall. This slide covers about 80 ft of the road, and there are 3 more smaller ones down the road.
The county has them all pushed off the road now.

Asphalt sheets

The asphalt just separated and came off in sheets.

Another view of the bridge area

The bridge is kind of back to the right, there is place here where the road goes down into the creek, where people drive through all the time, with heavy trucks, 4 wheelers, or just for fun, instead of using the bridge.

Another view of the bridge

The county has worked on this some now, and there is a huge pile of rocks sitting in the middle of what used to be the road, then they went off somewhere else to work.

Cuba Rd. Bridge

I guess a neighbor watched this happen around 7 am on Saturday morning.

Grillin' by the bridge

This was pretty funny, some of the neighbors had gotten together and had a cookout while watching the water rushing through where the bridge used to be. This is really deep and it just crushed that culvert.

Log Jam

This is the county rd we use daily, the neighbors all got together and got this taken care of quickly.

Bottom of the hill

This is at the bottom of our hill, on the county rd. There is a culvert under all this, but it only is adequate for the usual amount of water that runs through here.

Our driveway

This is part of our driveway, it goes through the creek, and usually has about 6 inches of water, but here it's more like 4 feet.

We had at least 11 inches of rain Friday night, and it washed out bridges and caused mud slides all along the road.
